About The Position

This role requires an expert level of knowledge in Secondary Packaging machines, capable of handling major issues, leading changeovers, performing in-depth troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventative actions. The technician will be responsible for efficiently controlling multiple lines and ensuring productivity goals are met or exceeded. This position also involves assisting the Supervisor, covering for them when absent, performing cleaning, adjustments, and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and assisting with repairs, setting up equipment, documenting machine startup settings, and writing descriptive reports. Supplemental functions include ensuring efficient line operation, verifying Batch Records, training new hires and cross-trained personnel, performing administrative duties like personnel scheduling and monitoring production lines, being interchangeable across all packaging lines, and adhering to and enforcing GMPs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Supervisor with overseeing Secondary Packaging.
  • Cover for shift Supervisor when they are absent from the packaging area.
  • Perform additional work duties or responsibilities as evident or required.
  • Assist as needed with cleaning, adjustments and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot problems and assist with maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Set up equipment in the correct configuration for the product scheduled / running to be processed.
  • Document machine startup settings and write descriptive reports/explanations in manufacturing maintenance log book/MBR.
  • Communicate to/from peers, oncoming/off-going Supervisor and other Lead Line Technicians.
  • Ensure packaging lines are running efficiently.
  • Verify all Batch Records include all required signatures and or initials.
  • Ensure training of new hires and any personnel involved in cross training.
  • Perform administrative duties to include personnel scheduling and monitoring production lines.
  • Be interchangeable across all packaging lines and configurations.
  • Adhere to GMPs and hold those around them accountable.
