Where you matter most. The Secondary Market Specialist administers and maintains the Bank's secondary market loan portfolio through accurate investor reporting, reconciliations and remittances. This role also researches and resolves reporting discrepancies, monitors account balances, and ensures compliance with investor and internal requirements, and performs a variety of residential loan servicing functions, including processing payoff quotes, payoffs, loan maintenance, and customer servicing requests.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of loan servicing experience, including familiarity with Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac servicing requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business applications.
  • Strong customer service, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily and monthly investor remittances, reporting, reconciliations, and ensure compliance for Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Federal Home Loan Bank, and other secondary market investors.
  • Administer secondary market activities throughout the loan lifecycle, including reporting, investor compliance, transaction processing, and resolving reporting, investor account, and custodial balance discrepancies.
  • Prepare General Ledger and Custodial account reconciliations, monitor internal accounts daily, and promptly resolve out-of-balance items.
  • Process loan servicing requests, perform loan maintenance and research, and complete customer requests through the ticketing system and other channels.
  • Serve as backup for critical residential and consumer loan servicing functions, including loan boarding, lien releases, and payment processing.
  • Maintain current knowledge of bank products, services, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements through ongoing training, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and internal bank policies while safeguarding the Bank's interests.
