The Secondary Literacy Instructional Coach facilitates the goals and objectives of the Comprehensive Plan through improved achievement and growth in secondary Literacy and ELA. This role supports district curriculum and professional development, and provides coaching and meta-coaching to ensure high-quality instruction for all students. The coach will work collaboratively with the Coordinator to develop and implement district curriculum and professional development initiatives, analyze data, plan and facilitate professional development, and improve communication between central office and school staff. They will also assist in the development of curricula, identify and provide coaching on best literacy practices, manage district assessments, and strengthen the role of building-level coaches. In schools, the coach will provide training and support for teachers, assist in planning and preparation, support the creation of effective learning environments, provide modeling and coaching for instructional delivery, and assist with assessment and reporting. Professional responsibilities include sharing information, supporting professional development, providing targeted coaching, offering parent opportunities, and collaborating on school improvement plans.
