About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Food Service Manager in the operation of a school food service program. This includes assisting with food preparation, serving, sanitation, inventory, and record-keeping. The Secondary Food Service Manager will also be responsible for training and supervising food service staff, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, and maintaining positive customer relations.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent (GED, foreign equivalency, etc.).
  • Two (2) years of institutional, commercial, and/or school district food service experience preparing and/or serving food.
  • OR a minimum of 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university in a related field (e.g., hotel and restaurant management, nutrition, dietetics, institutional management) and one (1) year of institutional, commercial and/or school district food service experience preparing and/or serving food.
  • Applicant/employee must be able to provide their own transportation.
  • Current SNHD Food Handler Safety Training Card. Card must be maintained for the duration of the assignment.
  • Current Food Protection Manager Certification (i.e., ServSafe). Certification must be maintained for the duration of the assignment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification provided by CCSD Food Service Department verifying that required Secondary Food Service Manager training has been successfully completed within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Food Service Manager in the daily operation of the school food service program.
  • Supervise and train food service staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Assist with food preparation, cooking, and serving.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of food and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of food production, inventory, and financial transactions.
  • Operate and maintain food service equipment.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager.
