About The Position

The Middle School Assistant Principal will support the Principal in promoting the educational well-being of each student. This role involves assisting with various administrative tasks, supervising staff and students, and ensuring the smooth operation of the school. The position is for the 2026/2027 school year and is based in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Requirements

Master’s Degree
Secondary Administration Certification Required
At least five years successful teaching experience
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

Assists in the scheduling of classes and supervises extra-curricular activities.
Assists in the preparation of student schedules.
Works with department heads and faculty groups in compiling annual budget requests.
Requisitions supplies and equipment, conducting inventories, maintaining records, and checking receipts.
Assists in coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
Supervises student attendance reporting and monitoring, with investigative follow-up.
Supervises conduct within the school and oversees all disciplinary procedures, keeping records.
Assists with parent, faculty, and student groups to advance the educational program.
Works with the principal in promoting staff in-service programs and assists in the Community Awareness Program.
Assists in textbook and supplies distribution and inventory.
Works with the principal in the preparation of the student handbook.
Assists the principal in general school administration and serves as principal in the principal's absence.
Keeps confidential records of special students and supervises IEP conferences.
Coordinates the in-school suspension program.
Assigns extra duties to teachers as necessary.
Completes monthly dropout reports for the state department and assists with other state reports.
Obtains substitute and/or covering teachers.
Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
