This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Over 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with 6 months or more leadership, project leader and/or training experience.
  • Forklift experience
  • 1-3 years experience with PC's and associated software (Quality Management Software, SAP & MS Office).
  • Ability to effectively work individually and in a team environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Attention to detail
  • Specific knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures related to production and warehousing processes in assigned area of responsibility

Responsibilities

  • Warehouse Lead assists the Shipping and DC Supervisor with managing and overseeing all the functions of the warehouse and ensuring smooth operations of all activities.
  • Lead ensures that materials in various stages of shipping and receiving are pulled and delivered to internal and/or external customers; domestic and/or international and warehouse meets SLAs.
  • Determine method of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures; prepare materials for shipping by weighing, packaging and stamping; prepare necessary shipping forms such as bills of lading
  • Ensure that transactions are properly recorded in required systems (SAP, FedEx, UPS, etc.)
  • Order and maintain department inventory of tools and supplies
  • Support and provide general reporting to Engineering, Technology and Production testing departments; represent respective area in meetings
  • Operate mechanical equipment as required, ie forklift, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Conduct cycle counts and other audits as required
  • Support and encourage employees to enhance their performance and, where appropriate, offer training on various departmental tasks
  • Conduct on the job training to new employees and resolve problems utilizing knowledge of shipping/receiving/stock operations
  • Lead teams in continuous improvement activities related to visual management, Quality, 5S and other lean concepts; maintain standards to ensure compliance with TL9000 quality requirements
  • Contribute to the 5S departmental goals by maintaining the cleanliness of the production, shipping and warehouse areas
