Second Shift Lead Stand Up Forklift Operator (M-F: 1pm-10pm)
About The Position
The Second Shift Lead Operator leads a picking team at Porter Logistics’ cold storage facility in Atlanta. This full-time, hourly, on-site role spends about 80% of the shift operating a stand-up reach truck to pull orders and stage outbound orders for the next day, and about 20% leading a crew of 1 to 3 operators. Responsibilities include assigning work at the start of the shift, training new operators, and submitting an end-of-shift report to the Operations Manager. The facility is half ambient and half temperature controlled, so the role includes work in freezer and chiller areas as well as exposure to summer heat.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience operating a stand-up reach truck.
- Experience with RF scanners.
- Ability to train others and give clear direction.
- Strong attention to detail with locations, counts, and paperwork.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for a full shift.
- Comfort working in warehouse temperatures, including summer heat, and in freezer and chiller areas.

- Experience with Extensiv WMS.
Responsibilities
- Operate a stand-up reach truck to unload containers and trailers, put away product, and pull orders.
- Assign daily work to a crew of 1 to 3 forklift operators.
- Train new operators on reach truck operation and Porter’s safety standards.
- Record every move with RF scanners in the Extensiv WMS.
- Inspect equipment before each shift and report damage or equipment issues.
- Submit an end-of-shift report to the Operations Manager.
- Follow and enforce safety rules and SOPs across the crew.
