About The Position

Emergency Plumbing Heating & Air is seeking an experienced and motivated Second Shift Lead Plumber to join their team. This leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in leading, mentoring, and developing apprentices while delivering high-quality plumbing work. You will oversee plumbing projects, guide your crew, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a start time of 2:00 PM and an end time of approximately 10:00 PM or when all scheduled jobs for the shift are completed. There are no on-call requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction plumbing, including pipe threading, welding, and blueprint reading
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience leading plumbing jobs or crews preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively lead and mentor apprentices
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and consistency in leading field operations
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of construction site operations, safety protocols, and building codes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and plumbing equipment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting and working in confined spaces or at heights
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations

Nice To Haves

  • Carpentry skills are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance projects in residential and commercial settings during second shift hours
  • Communicate clearly with apprentices, team members, and management to ensure smooth job execution
  • Train, mentor, and develop apprentices on proper techniques, safety, and workmanship standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate execution of work
  • Coordinate with other trades and team members to ensure efficient job completion
  • Perform pipe threading, welding, and assembly using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company expectations
  • Troubleshoot plumbing and related mechanical system issues
  • Work hands-on alongside your team while maintaining leadership of job flow, productivity, and quality
  • Ensure jobs are completed within the shift timeframe or clearly communicated if extended
