About The Position

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Second Operator to join their Transportation area. This role involves performing activities and tasks associated with moving rocket motors, tooling, and materials. The position is awarded to senior qualified employees already working for the union. The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and requires U.S. Citizenship for certain positions.

Requirements

  • Senior qualified employee already working for the union.
  • Demonstrated skills and aptitude to safely lead and efficiently perform rocket motor moves with semi-tractors, Scheuerle transporter, flatbed trucks and large forklifts.
  • Ability to drive semi-tractors, Scheuerle transporter and forklifts in areas with limited clearances and visibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely perform spotting operations and demonstrated willingness to follow the directions of a spotter.
  • Physical ability to individually lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read, clearly interpret, and accurately follow GOPs and other written instructions.
  • Must be willing to perform shift work and work on weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Complete and sustain sound proficiencies in all required training, including skill based training.
  • Ability to function effectively under close scrutiny while performing a high visibility operation.
