About The Position

We are looking for a skilled and motivated technical expert to join the Ultra Compact Core team at Ericsson Montreal. In this role, you will provide technical direction for projects and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical lead or equivalent software development role.
  • Strong technical expertise in software development, including relevant programming languages, frameworks, and technologies.
  • Experience with Agile project management methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with international teams across multiple time zones.
  • Ability to produce clear documentation in tools such as Word, Confluence, Markdown, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
  • Bilingual French and English is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant certification in project management or technical leadership (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Scrum Master).
  • Background in software or system architecture roles (SOA, UML, or similar).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and delivery.
  • Experience in the telecommunications sector (4G/5G) or the defense/security sector.
  • Experience working on systems deployed to end customers.

Responsibilities

  • Work within an Agile Product Development organization, collaborating closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze project requirements, define appropriate technical solutions, and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Refine and clarify market requirements — both functional and non-functional — and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Participate in and lead technical discussions, including the defense and updating of requirements.
  • Lead the planning, breakdown, estimation, and proposal of software solutions aligned with project goals.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive culture.
  • Identify technical debt and implement improvements to enhance code quality and maintainability.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, escalating early when blockers arise.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry trends, and software development methodologies.
