About The Position

The SEC Student Program Coordinator is an experienced student leader that assists with the day-to-day functions in the office and provides necessary support to student organizations, programs and initiatives in the Student Engagement & Connection (SEC) office. They work independently to complete administrative tasks, send communications, promote events, and assist with planning and assessment of events and initiatives. The Student Program Coordinator first serves as a resource but also as a liaison for students, student organizations, and to the campus community. The Student Program Coordinator will closely work with the SEC office and their projects to provide meaningful information to the student body and staff through various formats including presentations, trainings, etc. This position will work on administrative tasks including but not limited to data entry, filing, scheduling, etc., while also having elements of project management and effective communication. The Student Program Coordinator will offer one-on-one coaching conversations as needed in supporting student success and refer to staff and campus resources when necessary. They also help support, as needed, the collaborative initiatives of the Student Development & Engagement departments (SEC, Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA), and the Genders & Sexualities Advocacy Center (GSAC)).

Requirements

  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75.
  • Must be a sophomore, junior or senior in good standing with the university.
  • Must have 1 year of related program or student leadership experience.
  • Must be flexible with availability of schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day functions in the office.
  • Provide support to student organizations, programs, and initiatives in the Student Engagement & Connection (SEC) office.

  • Assist with planning and assessment of events and initiatives.

  • Incorporate elements of project management and effective communication.
  • Offer one-on-one coaching conversations to support student success.
  • Refer students to staff and campus resources when necessary.
  • Support collaborative initiatives of the Student Development & Engagement departments (SEC, OMSA, GSAC) as needed.
