Sec Screening Specialist
About The Position
The Security Screening Specialist ensures prohibited items do not enter the secure perimeter of the facility and that contraband is detected and removed. This role is responsible for maintaining the order and security of the facility. The specialist will ensure all visitors pass through the metal detector in the main lobby, are cleared, and consent to a pat search. This includes requiring visitors to remove shoes, jackets, caps, and empty all clothing pockets. Hair coverings are not authorized, and all shoes will be checked by the Security Screening Specialist. The position operates on a 12-hour-a-day basis, 7 days a week. Responsibilities include greeting and registering visitors with professional courtesy, verifying the need and purpose of visits, informing concerned parties of visitor arrivals, and logging visitor details including full name, ID number, and type of photo identification. The incumbent is also expected to perform other duties as assigned within their capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Ensure prohibited items do not enter the secure perimeter of the facility.
- Ensure contraband is detected and removed from the facility.
- Ensure the order and security of the facility.
- Ensure all visitors enter through the metal detector located in the main lobby entrance and are cleared.
- Ensure that all persons consent to be pat searched.
- Require removal of shoes, jackets, caps, and any items in ALL clothing pockets.
- Check all shoes.
- Greet and register all visitors to the facility with professional courtesy.
- Verify need and purpose for the visit and inform concerned parties of the arrival of any facility visitor.
- Register all visitors on the appropriate visitation log with full name and I.D. number and type of photo identification.
- Clear all visitors through metal detectors.
- Perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
