About The Position

Marksman Security is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Unarmed Retail Security Officer to provide safety, security, and exceptional service at a high-volume fast-food location. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in a fast-paced environment, maintain strong situational awareness, and can confidently support both staff and guests. Security Officers, sometimes referred to as Security Guards, deter criminal activity, protect property and enforce rules on a property. Some monitor surveillance cameras and alarms from a stationary position, while others patrol areas and do security checks. In factories, warehouses, retail and offices, Security Officers provide protection for equipment and workers along with checking the credentials of vehicles and individuals coming and going from the premises. An auxiliary officer is expected to be adaptable and ready to cover shifts, provide temporary security coverage, or fill in for other officers when needed.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age or older.
Must have a minimum of 2 years of security experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must meet all state licensing requirements for unarmed security
Familiarity with report writing
Computer skills are a must
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong communication and de-escalation skills
Ability to remain professional and composed in high-traffic or stressful situations
Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
Comfortable with outdoor environment in diverse weather conditions
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
Must successfully pass pre-employment background check.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in security or customer service fields.
Active CA State training and Guard Card licensing.
Prior security, customer service, or retail experience preferred
High level of customer service
Strong observational skills
Positive, approachable demeanor
Ability to adapt to fast-changing environments

Responsibilities

Maintain a visible security presence to deter unwanted activity and promote a safe environment
Monitor customer flow, dining areas, parking lots, and surrounding property
Respond to incidents, disturbances, or safety concerns in a calm and professional manner
Support store management with policy enforcement and conflict de-escalation
Document incidents, observations, and daily activity reports accurately
Assist customers and employees with general inquiries and safety-related needs
Communicate effectively with management, law enforcement, and security leadership when required
