About The Position

The Provo City Recreation Division is looking for responsible individuals to fill the position of Zamboni Driver at the Peaks Ice Arena in Provo, Utah for the winter season. Under the direction of the Ice Arena Manager, the Zamboni Drivers are responsible for maintaining a quality ice surface through scheduled resurfacings and other assigned ice maintenance. Qualified individuals interested in performing these recreational services are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Sufficient knowledge, experience, and/or skills that would demonstrate an ability to perform the duties of the position with particular emphasis on operating heavy machinery.
• Must be 18 years of age at time of appointment.
• Ice skating experience helpful.
• Preference given for prior experience operating ice resurfacing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate ice resurfacing machines.
• Maintain facility schedule by following posted resurfacing times.
• Assist with other assigned ice maintenance duties.
• Use measuring devices.
• May operate other job-related machines, vehicles, and/or other equipment.
• May assist in the visual inspection of machines, equipment, and/or associated parts to identify defects or need for maintenance.
• Observe general surroundings and activities to ensure safe execution of duties.
• Communicate any concerns and/or needs of the building and its equipment.
• Sharpen customer and rental skates.
• Assist in basic guest service needs at the Peaks Ice Arena.
• Support fellow teams members as needed and perform other related duties as required.
