About The Position

We are seeking a Seasonal Worker to join the team at My Sister's Place Thrift Store & Donation Center, supporting store operations during the busy holiday season. This position plays an important role in creating a positive shopping and donation experience at My Sister's Place, where proceeds from store sales benefit The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services, a program of BHcare. This position is part-time, 25 hours per week. The schedule is Tuesday-Saturday from 11am-4pm. It starts on or around November 2nd through January 9th, 2027. Candidates must reside in Connecticut to be eligible for this position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use an iPad or similar technology.
- Ability to assist with point-of-sale transactions.
- Strong customer service skills and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Candidates must reside in Connecticut to be eligible for this position.
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail, customer service, thrift store, or inventory experience.
- Experience working with volunteers or community-based organizations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during peak business periods.
Responsibilities
- Greet donors and customers and provide outstanding customer service.
- Receive, sort, and organize incoming donations.
- Process donated items and ensure they are routed appropriately to sales, storage, or recycling areas.
- Restock merchandise and assist with inventory replenishment.
- Create attractive merchandise displays and maintain a clean, organized sales floor.
- Help keep fitting rooms, donation areas, shelves, and storage spaces neat and presentable.
- Support day-to-day store operations to ensure a safe and positive experience for shoppers and donors.
