About The Position

The Fresh Market is looking for seasonal team members who are passionate about making everyday eating extraordinary for guests. This role involves creating a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience with exceptional, personal service. Seasonal team members can work in various departments including Grocery, Guest Service (Front End), Early Morning Production, or Produce, as well as provide counter support in Deli, Bakery, or Meat & Seafood departments. This is a temporary position to support stores during key business periods and employment may conclude at the end of the seasonal business period. The role requires flexibility to work weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Requirements

• A passion for providing extraordinary service.
• At least 16 years of age (or at least 18 years of age for Deli, Bakery, Produce departments).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
• Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Ability to use tools and equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment (unless under the age of 18).
• Required to spend long periods of time on feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law).
• Required to wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the retail, restaurant, or hospitality industries.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Consistently provide excellent guest service, engaging with guests to understand their needs and help them create meal solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of products and weekly ad items and assist guests across departments.
• Safely handle food products for sampling.
• Create a hospitable shopping experience by merchandising and stocking products and specialty items, and assisting nearby guests.
• Properly weigh and scan products, handle cash, and provide change.
• Gather shopping carts from the parking lot and assist in general housekeeping duties.
• Slice and prepare meat, cheeses, and convenient meal solutions, maintaining quality product levels.
• Present self in a professional manner, adhering to uniform standards.
