About The Position
The Summer General Labor Intern will gain hands-on experience in an industrial transportation and maintenance environment while supporting the daily operations of the Wash Rack and Facilities teams. This internship provides exposure to equipment maintenance, yard operations, inventory management, safety procedures, and teamwork in a fast-paced logistics setting. Interns will work alongside experienced employees while developing practical workplace skills and learning industry best practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in high school, trade school, or college.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to help teammates across departments.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Able to safely use basic hand tools or willing to learn.
- Ability to work independently with guidance and accept constructive feedback.
Nice To Haves
- Mechanical aptitude or interest in equipment maintenance is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with yard and facility cleaning and light maintenance.
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment.
- Help reposition company equipment to reduce yard congestion.
- Assist with stocking shelves and inventory organization.
- Support light landscaping and grounds maintenance.
- Accompany team members to vendors to pick up or return equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Learn to safely operate equipment such as pressure washers, pumps, and compressors under appropriate supervision and when properly trained.
- Assist with exterior cleaning of company equipment as needed.
- Support various departments when additional assistance is needed.
- Observe and follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper PPE usage, fall protection, and confined space awareness.
- Participate in daily housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
