About The Position

The Seasonal Studio Technician will provide a wide range of technical assistance and support to Studio Operations, including but not limited to maintaining the studio areas for Watertown, TD Garden, and Fenway Park. This part-time position (about 20 hours per week) is available from now through at least October, with the potential for extending into December pending playoff requirements and holiday coverage.

Requirements

• Recent experience in stage rigging, grip work and remote studio support
• Ability to lift heavy items
• Ability to climb ladders
• Take and execute direction of senior staff regarding live and taped studio productions
• Strong technical aptitude
• Solid organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
• Self-starter who is eager to learn and grow
• Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic
• Ability to work weekends, nights, overnights and holidays as needed
• Must have strong interpersonal skills
• Good understanding of the technical execution of broadcast television
• Licensed driver, safe driver - driving background check will be required

Nice To Haves

• Degree or Certification in technical broadcast operations, a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain the studio by keeping the area clean and tidy, properly reporting equipment issues.
• Follow safety protocol and procedures
• Daily studio set-up and preparation
• Operate studio Jib camera, and Stage Manage as needed to support NESN’s live and taped productions
• Assist with talent and guests
• Assist in camera and talent blocking
• Studio lighting support
• Participate in remote studio productions
• Assist in mic and IFB checks
