PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide comprehensive operational and administrative support for Event Services at Progressive Field, including event coordination, teammate and volunteer management assistance, logistics support, and the facilitation of smooth and positive experiences for attendees, team members, and guests. The expectation of this specialist role is 40 hours/week beginning in March 2026 and all home games through the end of baseball season.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree is preferred or currently pursuing a degree.
  • Prior or current experience in the sports and entertainment industry is preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Robust interpersonal skills with a talent for building effective relationships.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities, excelling in fast-paced environments.
  • Proactive self-starter with the drive to take initiative on tasks.
  • Exceptionally organized with a proven ability to manage priorities and projects efficiently.
  • Capacity to gain an understanding of all department and company policies, procedures, and individual staff responsibilities within the department.
  • Ability to utilize basic software programs such as incident management system and ABI (Advanced Business Integrators).
  • Demonstrates the ability to read, speak, comprehend, and communicate effectively to perform job duties and interact with coworkers.
  • Represents the Cleveland Guardians in a positive fashion to all business partners, teammates, and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support for various events hosted at Progressive Field, including assisting with event logistics, coordinating pre-event preparations, and ensuring all administrative tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Support coordination and execution of large-scale, cross-departmental projects, ensuring timely completion and seamless collaboration between teams.
  • Support the hiring process for Event Services teams by helping to screen candidates, schedule interviews, and assist with onboarding documentation.
  • Contribute to the creation, implementation, and assessment of training programs for all game day staff.
  • Work alongside leadership to support the usage of incident management tools ensuring smooth adoption and efficient use of the system across teams.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing data related to guest entry experiences, service evaluations, and other key performance metrics to drive improvements and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate communication by collecting and distributing information as needed to ensure all relevant teams are aligned and up to date.
  • Help with setting up homestand meetings, ensuring that all meeting materials and locations are prepared in advance for efficient and productive sessions.
  • Develop, manage, and distribute the Event Sheet in collaboration with both internal and external teams, ensuring it accurately reflects all event-related information and logistics.
  • Assist in the management of pregame, postgame, and special events on non-game days, including coordinating event set-up, execution, and breakdown to ensure timely and efficient event flow.
  • Support various Event Services teams during key activities such as fireworks shows, kids' run-the-bases events, and other special promotions, ensuring a positive experience for attendees.
  • Assist in managing and tracking inventory levels for uniforms, ensuring sufficient stock and timely distribution to seasonal team members.
  • Maintain accurate records of uniform usage and address any inventory needs promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator, Event Services to assist in recruiting, training, and managing volunteers for the program.
  • Ensure seamless operation of the program on game days, fostering a positive experience for both volunteers and fans.
  • Provide flexible support for other tasks and projects as assigned, ensuring that departmental goals are met and operations run smoothly.
