About The Position

This is a seasonal, part-time role for a Shift Lead at Buff City Soap. The company makes fresh, handmade soap and self-care essentials using clean, plant-based ingredients. The Shift Lead will be responsible for leading the team during shifts, driving sales and guest experience, and supporting operations and production, especially during the busy holiday season. The role requires flexibility with scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Previous leadership, keyholder, team lead, training, or supervisory experience required.
Strong communication and guest service skills.
Comfortable in a sales-driven environment and motivated by goals.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
Solid organizational and time management skills.
Responsible, dependable, and trustworthy with cash handling.
Ability to work well with a team in an upbeat, fast-paced environment.
Willingness to follow company policies and procedures.
Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead the team on duty, acting as the point person during busy shifts.
Open and close the store, including cash drawer management.
Delegate tasks and ensure completion.
Coach and motivate the team, holding them to standards for procedures, guest service, and sales goals.
Lead by example with attitude, work ethic, and hustle.
Set the tone for exceptional guest experiences.
Greet and engage every guest.
Make product recommendations.
Ask for the sale and help the team meet sales goals.
Handle guest concerns calmly and professionally.
Participate in production alongside the team, maintaining quality.
Balance production, guest engagement, and shift duties.
Maintain inventory levels for raw materials, supplies, and finished products.
Ensure finished products meet quality standards.
Follow safety, sanitation, and cleanliness requirements.
Keep the retail floor and production area clean and organized.
Support inventory management, reporting, and other daily operational tasks.
