About The Position

The Seasonal Scale Operator position is responsible for the customer service functions within the assigned location(s). This position is currently a seasonal/temporary role. A description of the duties includes: Operate the scale to weigh in-bound and out-bound trucks; Complete all applicable paperwork accurately and timely; Greets employees, members, and visitors in courteous manner when they enter the office; Files, types and performs other office support activities; Answers telephone in a professional manner and assists customers with sales, questions or complaints; Keeps work area neat and clean; Responsible for maintaining clean facilities, and complying with all state and federal regulations pertaining to a safe workplace, housekeeping, and all activities that require regulation compliance; Attends training and safety meetings; Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations; responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meeting commitments; Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees and management; Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements; Present a clean and professional appearance; Employee is required to perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer operation skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for seasonal demands.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds.
