About The Position

Five Below is hiring a part-time Seasonal Sales Associate to provide customer service and support sales during the busy holiday season, October through January. The role is centered on assisting customers, keeping merchandise organized and available, and providing efficient checkout experiences. The associate works with the store team to support store and company goals; the Store Manager may assign additional responsibilities based on store needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts; travel may be required as needed.
• Comfortable using or willing to learn technology such as computers, cash registers, handheld devices, and mobile devices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to engage with customers.
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential concerns courteously and professionally.
• Able to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
• Able to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
• Able to identify and understand email and printed instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
• Frequently climb and descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
• Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.
• Frequently move across the sales floor and between the sales floor and stock room.

Responsibilities

• Greet and promptly assist customers, including handling multiple customers efficiently.
• Assess and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing customers to merchandise, and offering recommendations.
• Use suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
• Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
• Address customer concerns and offer product-based solutions, seeking to turn returns into exchanges when possible.
• Communicate merchandise restocking and service needs, along with customer feedback, to management in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company goals and contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
• Perform additional duties as determined by the Store Manager based on store needs.
