About The Position

The Seasonal Sales Associate assists customers and helps maintain the store’s appearance. The role is responsible for customer service, merchandising, and store maintenance. It is a temporary position designated for company-identified seasonal periods to support increased business during high-volume times of the year.

Requirements

• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to preserve the confidentiality of information.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to organize and prioritize varied tasks and activities and work within strict timeframes and deadlines.
• Outstanding interpersonal and listening skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to interact well with customers and Associates.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; push and pull up to 35 pounds; stand for extended periods; bend and twist frequently; grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently; and squat, kneel, balance, and climb ladders occasionally.
• Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly, and to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least six months of retail experience in a mid-size to large retail service-oriented business is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge customers as they enter and exit the store and approach the front end.
• Operate the register accurately and efficiently.
• Know promotions and advertisements to answer customer questions and assist with selling products; support Ollie’s Army and other donation programs throughout the year.
• Maintain a neat and organized front-end work area.
• Assist with receiving trucks, pricing items, merchandising products, and recovering the store.
• Communicate customer needs to Team Leaders when necessary.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the overall store.
• Complete additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
