This position assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. The role involves collecting and analyzing sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. It also includes measuring a patient's lung capacity to identify any impaired function. The RRT administers treatments prescribed by a physician for patients with breathing abnormalities and assumes primary responsibility for respiratory care treatments. This is a seasonal assignment, with internal positions being 12 weeks long (3 shifts a week) and external positions being 22 weeks long (2-3 shifts a week). The role offers night and day availability.
