About The Position

InterHealth Staffing, a for-profit staffing division of TGH, is offering 13-week seasonal assignments for Respiratory Therapists. The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) performs designated Respiratory Care and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Coordinator or designee. These procedures are performed in accordance with established protocols and hospital procedures for the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities. Services include therapeutic and diagnostic procedures with medical gases, environmental control systems, humidification, aerosols, drug administration to the cardiopulmonary system, ventilatory support, bronchopulmonary drainage, breathing exercises, pulmonary rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and airway maintenance. These procedures are performed in critical and non-critical care areas for patients of all ages, aligning with TGH's mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • Licensed or Certified as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Florida
  • BLS through American Heart Association
  • One year experience required
  • Experience in NICU, PICU, Pedi Med/Surg required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the specific division being hired into
  • Deemed competent to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Performs designated Respiratory Care and Pulmonary diagnostic procedures.
  • Administers medical gases and operates administration apparatus.
  • Manages environmental control systems, humidification, and aerosols.
  • Administers drugs and medications to the cardiopulmonary system.
  • Provides ventilatory support, including maintenance and management of life support systems.
  • Performs bronchopulmonary drainage and breathing exercises.
  • Conducts pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Maintains natural and artificial airways.
