Seasonal Registered Nurse - Main Operating Room
About The Position
InterHealth Staffing, a staffing division of TGH, is offering 13-week seasonal assignments for Registered Nurses in the Main Operating Room. These positions come with competitive base pay and the possibility of contract extensions. This is an opportunity to experience TGH's culture and potentially transition into a permanent role. Tampa General Hospital is a leading safety net hospital providing comprehensive healthcare services and is affiliated with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, serving as its primary teaching hospital. Nurses will benefit from working with a Magnet-designated team and enjoy a flexible schedule. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the specific division and be competent to work independently. The role involves delivering nursing care to patients in the OR and other perioperative services for all patient populations, functioning as a circulating or scrub nurse during procedures, and assisting in robotic and general surgery cases. All duties must be performed in accordance with TGH's mission, vision, values, and quality improvement principles.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association
- Two years perioperative RN experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Neurosurgical experience required
- Orthopedic experience required
Nice To Haves
- Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred
- Scrub experience strongly preferred
- Robotic experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers nursing care to patients in the OR and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations.
- Functions as a circulating or scrub nurse as assigned during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum.
- Performs job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement.
- Assists in robotic and general surgery cases.
