About The Position

Sparton is seeking Seasonal Machine Operators for 1st Shift positions to assemble and build electro-mechanical Maritime products. This role offers opportunities for skill development and advancement through initial and ongoing on-the-job training. Seasonal work is available year-round for qualified candidates who meet pre-employment requirements and pass Post Offer Employment testing. The 1st Shift operates from Monday to Thursday, 5:00 am to 3:30 pm. Please note that seasonal hires are not eligible for Sparton benefits.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED is required and must be verified.
U.S. Citizenship is required and must be verified.
Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions in English.
Ability to add/subtract whole numbers, fractions and decimals using direct reading, gauge, rulers and scales.
Ability to work with Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses and gloves.
Successfully completing a 1-hour on-site, Post Offer Employment Test.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.
Ability to lift, bend or stoop as necessary up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with production is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical and/or electrical operations or assemblies involving fixed indicating meters, in-circuit test/functional test, marking machines, jigs & fixtures, packaging equipment, various types of fastening devices involving power operations, hand tools and gauges (fixed, micrometers, calipers, rulers).
Utilize various tools including scanners, tablets and computers.
Assemble and/or repair printed wiring assemblies (PWA), subassemblies, instruments, and final assemblies of various components utilizing a wide range of tools, work processes and skills to approved documented procedures/specifications.
Perform soldering operations including, board, wires and connectors.
Perform quality inspections on materials and finished product, including product packaging, labels and weights.
Notify responsible personnel of out-of-specifications and assist in resolution.
Report and/or correct safety issues and maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and work area.
Participate in training, pre-shift meetings, team assignments, and audits.
Perform daily clean-up of assigned work areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
