About The Position

Sparton is seeking Seasonal Machine Operators for 1st Shift positions to assemble and build electro-mechanical Maritime products. This role offers opportunities for skill development and advancement through initial and ongoing on-the-job training. Seasonal work is available year-round for qualified candidates who meet pre-employment requirements and pass Post Offer Employment testing. The 1st Shift operates from Monday to Thursday, 5:00 am to 3:30 pm. Please note that seasonal hires are not eligible for Sparton benefits.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required and must be verified.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required and must be verified.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions in English.
  • Ability to add/subtract whole numbers, fractions and decimals using direct reading, gauge, rulers and scales.
  • Ability to work with Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses and gloves.
  • Successfully completing a 1-hour on-site, Post Offer Employment Test.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.
  • Ability to lift, bend or stoop as necessary up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with production is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and/or electrical operations or assemblies involving fixed indicating meters, in-circuit test/functional test, marking machines, jigs & fixtures, packaging equipment, various types of fastening devices involving power operations, hand tools and gauges (fixed, micrometers, calipers, rulers).
  • Utilize various tools including scanners, tablets and computers.
  • Assemble and/or repair printed wiring assemblies (PWA), subassemblies, instruments, and final assemblies of various components utilizing a wide range of tools, work processes and skills to approved documented procedures/specifications.
  • Perform soldering operations including, board, wires and connectors.
  • Perform quality inspections on materials and finished product, including product packaging, labels and weights.
  • Notify responsible personnel of out-of-specifications and assist in resolution.
  • Report and/or correct safety issues and maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and work area.
  • Participate in training, pre-shift meetings, team assignments, and audits.
  • Perform daily clean-up of assigned work areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
