About The Position

Morris Animal Inn is a family-owned, award-winning pet resort with multiple locations in North New Jersey, specializing in top-tier pet lodging, grooming, training, and daycare services. They are hiring Summer Seasonal Pet Care Specialists across their Morristown, Montville, and Warren locations. This is a seasonal position from mid-May through August, with availability through Labor Day Weekend strongly preferred. Start times can be as early as 6:00 AM and end times as late as 11:00 PM, with shift lengths determined by business needs. Weekend and holiday availability is required, and limited time-off requests are expected due to the seasonal nature of the role. The starting pay is $16.00-$17.00/hour based on prior professional pet care experience. No prior professional experience is required, but a natural comfort around dogs of all sizes is essential.

Requirements

• Comfort and confidence walking and handling dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes
• Willingness to perform cleaning duties related to animal care
• Ability to read and write in English (for documentation, communication, and safety procedures)
• Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Availability for weekend and holiday shifts (essential as we care for dogs 365 days a year!).

Responsibilities

• Engage hands-on in the health and wellness of our canine and feline guests.
• Prepare & deliver meals while following precise schedules and instructions.
• Provide engaging enrichment activities, including nature trail walks, off-leash play, and cuddle sessions.
• Maintain detailed observations and records for each pet guest to support quality care and customer service.
• Perform thorough cleaning and sanitizing of the facility and pet areas.
