About The Position
The Deerfield Park District is seeking a part-time seasonal team member to join our Parks Department. This position involves general maintenance of park grounds, facilities, athletic fields, playgrounds, and landscaped areas. We are looking for self-motivated and responsible individuals who enjoy working outdoors.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Basic knowledge and ability to operate landscape equipment such as mowers, blowers, trimmers, and other small hand tools
- Ability to work in cold weather; must be comfortable shoveling and willing to learn snow plowing
- Basic understanding of occupational hazards and safety practices related to grounds maintenance and construction
- Must be able to work weekends and evenings when required, particularly during weather-related events
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for staff and park visitors
