About The Position

This is a seasonal position running from May 2026 through September 2026. This role will be primarily in Hartford, Tolland, and Litchfield Counties. The role will develop and merchandise high impact strategic accounts (both on/off premise) to execute Key programs and activities on priority brands in the portfolio. The merchandiser will directly support the sales team on all selling activities and workstreams in accordance with specific company, supplier and brand standards.

Requirements

  • Previous merchandising and/or selling experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to remain stationary for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to move about and position self to be able to create displays.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
  • Perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Make daily assigned calls to strategic accounts according to our service and frequency schedule in order to maximize the brands development within the account.
  • Execute merchandising priorities at the account level based on delivering the highest standards of brand presence and visibility within the account footprint to include; shelf positioning, Cold Box, Display location, Counter space POS utilization.
  • Use the following 6 steps to a complete sales call to secure activity: Preplan the selling day/call, Greet the manager/decision maker, Inventory/check codes/rotate items, Install displays, restock and refurbish pos and pricers, Record results and document tracking, surveys, Make notes for follow-up for next visit including opportunities to target/prepare for.
  • Target and Install displays according to set procedure and specifications in primary selling locations, with current POS, priced, and with the right number of cases.
  • Monitor, maintain and improve shelving and cold box placements, including assisting the sales divisions with new placement locations.
  • Re-stock and Pack out Grocery channel and mass merch accounts.
  • Ensure that all shelf sets and planograms are to brand/committed store space specifications and constantly upgrade space.
  • Deliver and pickup POS, coolers and other mass display equipment to accounts (When Needed).
  • Improve the work environment by exhibiting respect, compassion, enthusiasm and a sense-of-humor on a daily basis.
  • Service internal and external customers by adding value for fellow employees, customers and vendors and striving to provide effective solutions to solve their problems.
  • Continually use minds and creative powers to improve overall company performance by suggesting more effective methods of operating.
  • Meet merchandising objectives.
  • Complete and turn in all required paperwork.
