About The Position

Most of our homes are located within Beachwalk Resort - a magical place located right across from Lake Michigan’s most beautiful beach where charming cottages and grand beach homes are nestled behind picket fences inviting neighbors to chat and vacationers to reconnect with family. In addition to the 80+ homes within the resort, we manage an additional 40+ units in other areas of Northwest Indiana and nearby Michigan. These homes are individually owned and contracted with us for vacation rental management. Our maintenance team is responsible for the upkeep of both the interiors and exteriors of our vacation homes and office spaces. We’re looking for a candidate who thrives in both indoor and outdoor environments, maintains a professional and customer-focused attitude, is reliable, and works well in a team. A strong understanding of basic household repairs, general tools, lawn equipment, and phone apps is required. This position requires on-call availability, weekend shifts throughout the summer, and the use of your personal vehicle and basic tools. This is a seasonal position only. Our season runs from May to Mid-September. The Wanderluxe Collection is a hospitality umbrella encompassing the following vacation rental property brands: Beachwalk Vacation Rentals, IN the Dunes, and South Shore Vacation Homes. The Wanderluxe Collection combines professional service with a welcoming atmosphere, offering exceptional comfort for all guests. The journey to The Wanderluxe Collection began when Rob Harte, President of NWI Development, acquired Beachwalk Vacation Rentals in 2015, with 40 short-term rental homes under management. The rapid growth of the portfolio, now 140+ homes, led to the 2024 formation of new brands under The Wanderluxe Collection, designed by Erin Harrell, Executive General Manager, and Sharon Harte, EVP of NWI Development. Each brand caters to a specific experience, providing uniquely tailored stays, and the operational excellence of the Wanderluxe Collection Management team ensures each home is prioritized, maintained, and well-cared for.

Responsibilities

General household maintenance and repairs, such as unclogging toilets, replacing door locks, lighting water heater pilots, swapping out garbage disposals and furnace filters, screen repair/replacement, minor plumbing, lightbulb replacement, moving/assembling furniture, adjusting/replacing doors/hinges, troubleshooting internet and TV issues, minor drywall patching, and more.
Assisting the maintenance manager with larger projects that require additional support.
Preparing homes for guest arrivals, which may include tasks like clearing sand and debris from decks, cleaning grills, weeding, and garbage removal.
While most work will be concentrated within a small radius around Michigan City, there may be occasional travel to properties up to 20 miles away.
