Seasonal Production/Assembly Weekend Shift positions are available! We are looking for Seasonal Machine Operators interested in learning to assemble and build our electro-mechanical Maritime products. Seasonal work is available throughout the year for candidates who can successfully complete our pre-employment requirements and Post Offer Employment testing. Initial training, and ongoing On-The-Job training is available, offering opportunities to increase skills and advance to more complex assembly/build roles with higher hourly pay. Available Shift: Weekend/3rd Shift hours are 5:00am to 5:30pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday Please NOTE: Seasonal hires are not eligible for Sparton benefits. Job Summary The Seasonal Machine Operators are responsible for packaging, assembly and manufacturing Sparton products in accordance with documented requirements and specification to meet the quality standards of our customers. This position may require standing or sitting for a significant portion of the work shift. This position may also require frequent movement throughout the manufacturing operation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required and will be verified.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions in English.
  • Ability to add/subtract whole numbers, fractions and decimals using direct reading, gauge, rulers and scales.
  • Ability to work with Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses and gloves.
  • Successfully completing 1-hour on-site, Post Offer Employment Test.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical and/or electrical operations or assemblies involving fixed indicating meters, in-circuit test/functional test, marking machines, jigs & fixtures, packaging equipment, various types of fastening devices involving power operations, hand tools and gauges (fixed, micrometers, calipers, rulers).
  • Utilization of various tools including scanners, tablets and computers
  • May assemble and/or repair printed wiring assemblies (PWA), subassemblies, instruments, and final assemblies of various components utilizing a wide range of tools, work processes and skills to approved documented procedures/specifications.
  • May perform soldering operations including, board, wires and connectors
  • Perform quality inspections on materials and finished product. Quality checks include product packaging, labels and weights
  • Notify responsible personnel if out of specifications are observed, and assist in resolution as appropriate
  • Report and/or correct safety issues and maintain proper safety conditions of the equipment and work area.
  • Participate in training, pre-shift meetings and team assignments and audits
  • Perform daily clean-up of assigned work areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
