About The Position

The Seasonal Part-Time Landscaper is responsible for maintaining the beauty, cleanliness, and overall appearance of Cheshire Hollow Farm. Working closely with the Farm Manager, this position supports the upkeep of lawns, gardens, landscaped areas, and outdoor spaces to ensure the property remains safe, welcoming, and visually appealing throughout the growing season. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and appreciates the unique environment of a working farm.

Requirements

Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 8 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments
Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill executive directions in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player
Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards from all perspectives
Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift

Nice To Haves

Landscaping, groundskeeping, gardening or general outdoor labor experience
Experience operating lawn care and landscaping equipment
Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership

Responsibilities

Assist the Farm Manager with daily landscaping and grounds maintenance activities.
Perform string trimming around lawns, flower beds, fences, trees, and farm buildings.
Mow and maintain lawns and turf areas to ensure a neat appearance.
Apply fertilizer to lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas as directed.
Plant seasonal flowers, shrubs, ornamental plants, and other landscape materials.
Weed, mulch, and maintain flower gardens and landscaped beds.
Water lawns, gardens, flower beds, hanging baskets, and newly planted areas.
Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of farm grounds by removing debris and keeping walkways clear.
Operate lawn mowers, string trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of landscaping equipment and tools.
Monitor grounds conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns to the Farm Manager.
Follow all farm safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Support seasonal landscaping projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
