About The Position

The City of Springfield is seeking applicants for a Seasonal Lake Maintenance position within the Office of Public Utilities, Division of Supt Of Lake Sevices-Maintenan. This role involves performing various outdoor maintenance tasks to ensure the cleanliness and presentability of parks, fishing areas, common grounds, restrooms, facilities, roadways, and public areas. The position is non-union and requires a valid class D driver's license. Pre-employment background and drug screening are mandatory.

Requirements

• Position requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years high school.
• A valid class D driver's license.
• Pre-employment background and drug screen are required.
• Preference for employment in all positions with the city shall be given to applicants who are full-time city residents.
• Current City employees must have completed their probationary period and attained certified status in their current position.

• Previous related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mowing and trimming duties in parks, fishing areas, and common grounds.
• Clean and maintain public restrooms and facilities.
• Maintain and keep park grounds, roadways, and public areas clean and presentable.
• Rake and level soil and assist with general yard maintenance activities.
• Pick up garbage and debris in parks and along roadways.
• Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
