About The Position

The Akron Zoo is hiring seasonal employees for its Guest Services department. These positions offer discounts, flexible schedules, and the opportunity to make a difference. Team members earn $13.00 per hour. Roles include Food Service, Gift Shop/Retail Operations, and Guest Experiences. Seasonal employment concludes on December 31st.

Requirements

• Comfortable walking and working outdoors in all weather conditions, including cold temperatures.
• Must have a valid driver's license to drive the A&K Wilbur and/or Considine Express.
• Requires standing for long periods of time.
• Requires lifting up to 50 lbs. at a time when merchandising product.

Nice To Haves

• Previous sales experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional guest experience.
• Uphold health and cleanliness standards.
• Operate cash registers and maintain inviting storefronts/dining/retail areas.
• Stock inventory and interact with guests.
• Prepare food safely and keep kitchens/storage areas clean and organized.
• Check-in and rotate deliveries and update cleaning records.
• Assist with catered events.
• Help guests select products.
• Work with various technology pieces, including station-based POS systems.
• Staff Ticket Counter and operate ride attractions.
• Sell admission, special event tickets, and memberships.
• Redeem membership certificates.
• Operate rides safely and efficiently.
