About The Position

Assists in developing, instituting, and managing member-oriented programs and services. These include but are not limited to: Services and maintenance of a professional and elegant-looking pro shop. Assists members in the shop with any questions they may have. Toptracer Range Golf Tournaments, Events and Leagues Lessons, Golf Clinics, Junior Camps (if qualified) Golf Course marking and defining Club Repair POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL INCOME: Lessons (if qualified) Jr. Camp Clinic/Golf Schools Club Repair

Requirements

  • Must have good customer service skills.
  • Requires responsibility and accountability.
  • Requires good time/task management, and a positive and upbeat attitude.
  • Requires proficiency with club repair tools such as a vice, grip knife and shaft cutter.
  • Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers and members.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate well in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, PowerPoint software and Internet software.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of golf merchandise is helpful.
  • PGM Program with the PGA of America is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance for members and guests in the Pro Shop.
  • Organizes and coordinates golf leagues, outings and special events.
  • Assists tee-time coordination.
  • Assists in the maintenance of an accurate inventory.
  • Marks and defines golf courses.
  • Produces educational films for members and guests on the current technology.
  • Performs club repair which includes grips, cut downs and epoxies.
  • Communicates with members, co-workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Polo Club.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the First Assistant Senior Golf Professional.
