About The Position

This role involves staffing the Gift Shop during assigned evening and weekend hours, typically 3-4 days per week for 3-4 hours per shift, including Saturday mornings. The employee will be responsible for welcoming and assisting customers, operating the cash register, helping customers select merchandise, restocking and organizing inventory, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the shop. The position also requires following parish procedures for cash handling and security, and representing St. Timothy Catholic Church positively.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Reliable and punctual, with the ability to consistently work scheduled evening and weekend shifts.
Friendly and comfortable interacting with people of all ages.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Able to work independently and responsibly.
Comfortable handling cash and using a point-of-sale system.
Organized and attentive to detail.
Ability to lift and move boxes and merchandise as needed.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Catholic faith and traditions is preferred.

Responsibilities

Staff the Gift Shop during assigned evening and weekend hours.
Welcome and assist parishioners, visitors, and customers in a warm and helpful manner.
Operate the cash register and process cash/electronic payments accurately.
Assist customers in finding & selecting Catholic books, gifts, religious items, and seasonal merchandise.
Restock and organize merchandise and maintain an attractive appearance of the shop.
Receive, unpack, price, and display new merchandise as needed.
Monitor inventory and communicate low-stock or customer-requested items to the Gift Shop Manager.
Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the Gift Shop.
Follow all parish procedures regarding cash handling, security, and opening and closing the Gift Shop.
Represent St. Timothy Catholic Church in a positive, welcoming, and professional manner.
Perform other duties related to Gift Shop operations as assigned by the Gift Shop Manager.
