About The Position

This position involves assisting with pre-game, game time, and post-game responsibilities. The role requires approximately 5-15 hours per week, with work scheduled for evenings and weekends. There are 6-8 openings for this seasonal role.

Requirements

  • Good public relation skills.
  • Ability to get along and work with fellow employees.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work in cold, damp, hot, and loud conditions.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and squat occasionally for 6-8 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift 50-100 pounds.
  • Ability to read/write and follow verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to continuously walk or stand for 4-8 hours.
  • Ability to clean up bodily fluids (blood, vomit, etc.) on and off ice.
  • Proficiency in mathematics.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

  • Clean all public areas and locker rooms to make sure they are ready for the game/event.
  • Keep restroom supplies stocked.
  • Keep all outside walkways/exits free of snow and ice, shoveling and salting as needed.
  • Put out metal signs by the east entrance to direct fans to the west entrance.
  • Check areas during, before, and after events.
  • Put out and store game nets, ensuring net pegs are with the nets.
  • Rope off areas by the Zamboni room and skate shop.
  • Fill the Zamboni before the game.
  • Set up two eight-foot tables and four chairs by the west entrance, and any additional chairs as needed.
  • Move nets for the Zamboni driver between periods.
  • Fill the Zamboni and melt snow after resurfacing.
  • Continue to keep all outside walkways/exits free of snow and ice.
  • Assist the concession stand between periods as needed.
  • Work as a team.
  • Help direct patrons where to exit the building post-game.
  • Pick up litter around the entire rink.
  • Use blowers/brooms to clean bleachers.
  • Clean the warming and game rooms (sweep and mop).
  • Clean tabletops.
  • Empty all garbage cans.
  • Clean all restrooms thoroughly, including sinks and mirrors.
  • Clean locker rooms and lower-level restrooms.
  • Clean east and west entrances.
  • Vacuum rugs and check the outside of entrances.
  • Sweep and mop all staircases and the landing by the wheelchair lift.
  • Put away tables and chairs by the west entrance.
  • Mop all bleachers, walkways, risers, and any spills.
  • Run floor scrubber over the upper walkway.
  • Mop the lower walkway.
