About The Position

Pet Paradise is looking for individuals with a passion for pets to be the welcoming face of our Houston Hobby resort as a Seasonal Front Desk Associate. This is not your normal front desk job! Get ready to ensure a positive first interaction by welcoming pet parents and their pets (our 'guests') as they enter the resort while smiling and conversing. The role involves organizing and processing check-ins and check-outs, walking four-legged friends for drop off and pickup, coordinating suite placement, answering incoming phone calls, responding to voicemails and emails, completing cashier and point of sale operations, communicating and following through with pet parent and resort leadership requests, maintaining cleanliness of the entranceway and lobby, including restrooms, and responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and supporting the cat room. Additionally, the associate will act as a liaison to the veterinary service team regarding appointment status and arrivals, and be responsible for taking off and putting on harnesses at check-in and check-out, making sure suites are set up for each pet, and being familiar with different types of harnesses.

Requirements

One to two years in a customer service role (Customer Service, Call Center, Receptionist)
Detailed, but can work with a sense of urgency while providing exceptional customer service
Cheerful, friendly, and a positive team-oriented attitude
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail, especially where documentation is concerned
Enjoys problem solving in order to provide our guests and customers with a premier experience
This position requires a considerable amount of physical labor, including pet handling, walking, and standing for long periods of time
Comfortable being around dogs of all sizes and physically able to lift up to 60 lbs
Flexibility to resort schedule needs including days, night, weekends, holidays, and peak times

Answering in-coming phone calls; listening, and responding to voicemails; and responding to emails
Completing cashier and point of sale operations
Communicating and following through with pet parent and resort leadership requests
Maintaining cleanliness of the entranceway and lobby, including the restrooms
Responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and supporting the cat room
Acting as a liaison to veterinary service team; veterinary appointment status and arrivals
Responsible for taking off and putting on harnesses at check in and check out
Making sure suites are set up for each pet
