About The Position

Stovepipe Wells, located in Death Valley National Park, is seeking a Seasonal Front Desk Agent for the Winter 2026 season. Stovepipe Wells is an 80-room hotel with a restaurant, bar, pool, gas station, general store, and gift shop. We are a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services within Death Valley National Park, operating under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service. This role is crucial for greeting and assisting visitors, managing reservations, and ensuring a positive guest experience.

Requirements

  • Ability to work and thrive in Death Valley National Park.
  • Technical skills for reservation entries and quality performance.
  • Ability to establish successful working relationships with co-workers, Park Service, and the public.
  • Ability to get along well with people, be honest, punctual, and reliable.
  • Ability to remain calm and friendly.
  • Ability to physically make rounds throughout the resort.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a hospitality service position.
  • High school diploma required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist visitors, answer questions, and explain regulations.
  • Answer phones, handle reservations, and respond to guest inquiries with precision and finesse.
  • Maintain a report of occupied or vacant rooms and RV campsites.
  • Distribute maps, park rules, and local information.
  • Assist guests in locating hotel rooms and full hook-up RV sites.
  • Be familiar with local points of interest and services requested by guests.
  • Perform basic duties in common areas to maintain an attractive and clean environment.
  • Be observant for activities requiring immediate attention and notify the Lodging Manager as problems arise.
  • Understand and follow all ESQ (Environmental, Safety, and Quality) procedures.
  • Work with a “safety-first” attitude.
  • Minimize environmental impact at work and while living onsite.
  • Project a hospitable service atmosphere at all times.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
  • Report defective, damaged, or lost PPE or equipment to the manager.
