Seasonal Events & Community Engagement Specialist

EnviroIssues, IncSeattle, WA
$25 - $29Onsite

About The Position

For 35 years, EnviroIssues has successfully led comprehensive community engagement, communications, facilitation, research, and graphic design programs for public agencies. We partner with our clients to design and implement strategies that effectively engage people in complex and often intersecting issues across transportation, land use, natural resources, utilities, housing, and public health. We work mainly in Washington and Oregon, with offices in Seattle and Portland. Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about sharing with the public some of the biggest projects happening in our community via tabling or other in-person outreach. Every summer, EnviroIssues brings projects to people at fairs and festivals across the Puget Sound region. As a seasonal Events & Community Engagement Specialist, you will represent our projects and clients at outreach booths at community events like farmers’ markets, cultural festivals, block parties, and art fairs throughout the season. This is a seasonal position, with work starting in early July and going through mid-August. There may be an opportunity to extend through September depending on event schedules. Your schedule and hours will vary depending on event schedules, with most work on Saturdays and Sundays plus occasional hours on Fridays and/or Mondays to prepare for and unpack from weekend events. We anticipate that you will work approximately 10-20 hours per week in this role. This is an on-site position based in the Seattle area.
