About The Position

Under the immediate direction of the Event Coordinator or Site Supervisor, the Seasonal Event Staff will perform general labor associated with special events and activities. This role provides support services for events, concerts, and similar functions. Duties include set-up and breakdown of equipment; restroom maintenance and stocking; litter control and garbage removal; and parking lot and street closures. Examples of events include the Belton Bacon, Blues, and Brews Festival (B4), Christmas on the Chisholm Trail, 4th of July Parade, Family Camp Out, Soggy Doggy Day, Family, Fishing, and Fun, and miscellaneous Parks and Recreation activities.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent or currently enrolled in high school.
  • Knowledge of safety measures as it relates to the safe use of cleaning and/or sanitizing chemicals.
  • Ability to withstand possible excessive heat temperature conditions.
  • Ability to work in variable weather conditions, including rain, wind, and fluctuating temperatures.
  • Ability to communicate clear and concise oral instructions.
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with the public.
  • Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff.
  • Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergencies.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to use small hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms.
  • Ability to climb up and down a ladder safely.
  • Must have personal transportation to and from work.
  • Must be punctual and regular in attendance.
  • Maintain a valid Texas driver’s license.

  • With training, operate small power tools.
