About The Position
The Mattapoisett YMCA is hiring Seasonal Event Staff to support our Shining Tides Wedding & Events team. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in event staff, hospitality, facilities support, or wedding venue operations. Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent guest support.
Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs (tables, chairs, equipment)
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in events, hospitality, or facilities is a plus
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented
Responsibilities
- Direct guests to parking areas and coordinate bus drop-offs
- Assist with event setup and breakdown (tables, chairs, event spaces)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout events
- Monitor facilities and handle basic maintenance needs
- Secure buildings and grounds after events
- Provide general event support to ensure smooth operations
