About The Position

The City of Reno Parks and Recreation Department is seeking energetic, reliable, and community-focused individuals to support Park Activation Programs throughout parks, plazas, and public spaces. These positions provide frontline support for recreational programming, events, and community activations and serve as welcoming representatives of the City of Reno. This is a part-time position that offers a fun atmosphere with great co-workers. The position is available year-round.

Requirements

Age: 18
An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent in Experience.
Two years of experience in event operations, hospitality, or customer service.
Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

Expertise in specialized area such as Recreation, Inclusion, Athletics, Parks, etc.
Bilingual abilities (Spanish or other languages)
CPR/AED and First Aid preferred

Responsibilities

Provide onsite support during festivals, concerts, community gatherings, neighborhood activations, and specialized programs.
Serve as a liaison between event organizers and City departments (e.g., Parks & Recreation, Public Works, Public Safety).
Act as a resource to promoters, vendors, and attendees regarding public facilities, programs, and services.
Monitor event sites and program areas to ensure promoter compliance with City requirements and approved permits, including maintaining safety, cleanliness, organization, and appropriate use of facilities.
