About The Position

This role involves assisting in laboratory preparations, maintaining organization and cleanliness, operating and calibrating instruments, and supporting faculty and students during experiments. The position requires strict adherence to safety protocols, proper waste disposal, and accurate data recording. The employee will also perform other assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing laboratory experiments, materials, and equipment prior to scheduled sessions
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, storage areas, and common laboratory spaces
• Operate and calibrate laboratory instruments under supervision
• Assist in receiving, labeling, and storing supplies and chemical reagents safely
• Support faculty and students during experiments by providing materials and technical assistance
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with departmental and institutional health and safety guidelines
• Dispose of chemical and biological waste properly, following appropriate environmental and safety procedures
• Record and report data or equipment malfunctions to the supervising instructor or laboratory manager
• Perform other duties as assigned
