About The Position

Early Morning Seasonal Stock Associates are responsible for maintaining operational standards, supporting inventory processes, and helping create a welcoming shopping environment in a fun and fast-paced retail setting. Early Morning Seasonal Stock Associates report directly to the Store Team Leader. Early Morning Seasonal Stock Associates play a critical role in ensuring the sales floor is fully stocked, organized, and ready for business each day. Responsibilities include receiving and processing merchandise, maintaining stockroom organization and cleanliness, supporting inventory accuracy, and assisting customers using The Paper Store’s G.U.E.S.T. service approach when needed.

Requirements

  • Previous retail, stockroom, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with inventory control processes preferred.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor and/or stockroom for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 50 pounds while utilizing appropriate safety techniques.
  • Availability to work early morning shifts is required. Scheduled shifts may begin between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM.
  • Ability to work a flexible seasonal schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and POS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a TPS Champion by modeling the G.U.E.S.T. service approach and consistently delivering World Class Service: Greet and welcome every customer warmly and with enthusiasm. Understand customer needs by asking open-ended questions. Explain product features and benefits in relation to customer needs by providing in-depth product knowledge. Suggest additional items to build sales by utilizing effective selling techniques. Thank customers sincerely and invite them to return and shop with us again.
  • Be a TPS Brand Ambassador. Build customer loyalty by being friendly, attentive, and respectful of customers.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by modeling ethical behavior, fostering open communication, and maintaining confidential information as required.
  • Maintain a professional presentation in attire, demeanor, appearance, and compliance with company dress code.
  • Receive, unpack, ticket, and process incoming merchandise shipments efficiently and accurately.
  • Replenish and organize sales floor merchandise to ensure the store is stocked and presentation-ready for opening.
  • Maintain the integrity of store inventory through proper receiving practices, reporting discrepancies in a timely manner, processing damages, and following corporate inventory control guidelines.
  • Perform inventory tasks such as correction adjustments, price changes, and stock balancing transfers.
  • Organize and maintain the stockroom, storage areas, and bathrooms to meet company standards at all times.
  • Assist with supply organization and operational tasks as needed.
  • Ensure operational communications (email, Smart Sheet, etc.) are reviewed and acted upon in a timely manner.
  • Understand, employ, and support TPS safety standards.
  • Demonstrate initiative to cross-train and assist in other store functions as business needs require.
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of seasonal transitions, promotional events, and special projects.
  • Complete all other related tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
