About The Position

The Distribution Yard Associate is responsible for assisting with train and barge offloads from the ground, shoveling, using hand tools, and maintaining conveyors. This is a physical job that requires someone to be safe and work in a team environment, with exposure to environmental conditions throughout the day. The role involves operating equipment such as wheel loaders, skid steers, and excavators. A key aspect of the position is flexibility in scheduling due to barge and rail timelines that align with customer needs, which may include early mornings, late evenings, and weekend work. Teamwork and mutual safety are highly valued, with daily team meetings to discuss loads, assignments, and safety. A continuous improvement mindset is encouraged.

Requirements

• Flexibility to work a varying schedule to include evenings and weekends when necessary
• Previous experience working in a similar outdoor environment: plant, construction site or distribution yard
• Previous experience running heavy equipment and working with hand tools
• Previous experience with rail or barge is a plus
• Welding and cutting a plus
