About The Position

Tate’s Bake Shop is looking for a Counter Helper to join their legacy shop in Southampton, NY. As a Counter Helper you are responsible for greeting customers in a friendly manner, taking orders with attention to accuracy, and processing payments. You will play a big role in ensuring our customers leave with a smile by providing them with outstanding customer service. You will model Tate’s Bake Shop integrity and work collaboratively with the shop’s dynamic team. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. Applicants ages 16-17 must have valid working papers (Employment Certificate).

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Basic math skills.
• Constantly move about the Bake Shop.
• Constantly position self to prepare orders and clean.
• Constantly communicate to staff and customers.
• Constantly follow written and verbal instructions.
• Frequently move packaging supplies and orders.
• Frequent exposure to variety of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with known allergens such as: milk, eggs, nuts (tree nuts), wheat, soy.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they arrive.
• Answer questions and make customers feel welcome.
• Take and prepare orders.
• Monitor orders for consistent quality and report concerns as needed.
• Diligently follow all safety protocols.
• Assist in maintaining all work areas clean.
• Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
• Collaborate with other staff to serve orders in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
