This role provides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs. The associate will seek out customers to understand their needs and assist in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise. They will listen to and respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer and associate questions by taking them to areas of the store and walking them through projects when necessary. The associate will demonstrate sincere appreciation to customers and communicate information regarding all stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs. In the Tool Rental Department, the associate will write customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs. This role also involves cross-functional training in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service. The associate will detect common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicate them to management and/or Asset Protection. They will ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and programs (e.g., Zone Recovery) to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas. Maintaining a safe and secure work environment is crucial, which may include conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates. The associate will adhere to all safety requirements relevant to their regular job duties, including top stock safety, reinstalling safety cables, use of aisle blockers, a tether line on power equipment, spotters, and safety devices. The associate will operate store equipment as needed depending on their specific role and department.
