This role provides SMART customer service by executing Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs. The associate will assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise. They will listen to and respond to customer and associate questions, potentially walking them through projects. The role involves communicating information about stock, special orders, feature benefits, applications, and warranties. In the Tool Rental Department, the associate will write customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs. The position also includes cross-functional training in other store areas to enhance customer service delivery. Responsibilities also include detecting signs of shoplifting or security risks, ensuring compliance with housekeeping standards for store cleanliness and organization, and maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This involves conducting safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates. Adherence to all safety requirements relevant to job duties, such as top stock safety, using safety cables, aisle blockers, and spotting devices, is crucial. The associate will operate store equipment as needed, including Zebra phones, telephones, paging systems, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV surveillance systems, key cutters, panel saws, paint mixers, flooring cutters, compactors, balers, and tool rental equipment.
